There is much talk around the school-to-prison pipeline and how “certain” children are marked at an early age. However, there’s another pipeline at play, which is prison labor. More companies are turning to prisons to fill the void of labor shortages. Guest Francie Ekwerekwu joins the show provide some insight. Then Lee, Terence and Lisa turn to the Olympics and Simone Biles. There are heavy expectations put upon elite athletes. There is balking and plenty of huffing about Simone Biles’ withdrawal. Some people were calling her un-American and so on, which draws paralells to the 40-million dollar slave metaphor (and book).
